VALLEY OF THE WINDMILLS

Production: LED lights, wind, steel, aluminum 8' diameter x 50' highest. Commissioned by the San Francisco Arts Commission to create a gateway into the city at Vistacion Valley/Little Hollywood for the Third Street MUNI Light Rail System.

Description: This area of the city was known as the Valley of the Windmills because in the 1800's many of the farms used wind power for fields. The design of a wind turbine has been elaborated to fit within the 8' wide traffic median.
