SUNSHADES
Ventura Community Park, San Buenaventura, CA | 2005
Production: LED light, steel, aluminum 18'6" diameter x 20' high.
Description: Four Sunshades in four colors—red, blue, green, yellow—shade the Oasis Plaza, sited between two pools in the aquatic complex. Bracelets of LED light illuminate a cone structure under each shade, and illuminate the undersides of the folded plate structure.
Butterfly finials are at the top of each Sunshade. (Ventura is a 'pit stop' for the monarch butterfly along the Pacific Coast.)
